Ahoy, matey! Hook is looking for new recruits to join his pirate crew, but before you can set sail on the Jolly Roger, you'll need to prove you've got what it takes to be a pirate! 

Complete the training challenges below and see if you can earn your place among Neverland's most adventurous pirates.

How to play 

Head outside with your chosen grown-up and work your way through the pirate training challenges below. 

Some challenges will test your balance, some will test your observation skills and others will put your imagination to the test. See how many you can complete to become an official Neverland pirate! 

Challenge 1: Walk the plank 

Pirates need excellent balance. 

Find a safe line to walk along, such as a pavement edge, garden border or line on the ground. 

Can you walk from one end to the other without stepping off? 

Bonus challenge: Try walking backwards! 

Challenge 2: Pirate lookout 

Every pirate must keep watch while sailing the high seas. 

Can you spot: 

How quickly can you find them all? 

Challenge 3: Treasure transporter 

Pirates must protect their treasure. 

Choose a small object and carry it from one side of your garden or outdoor space to the other while balancing it on your hand. 

Can you do it without dropping it? 

Bonus challenge: Try to balance it on your head while you walk! Balance it on your hand while you walk. 

Challenge 4: Escape the crocodile 

Oh no! The ticking crocodile is getting closer! 

Pick two safe points and run between them five times as quickly as you can. 

Can you escape before the crocodile catches up?

Every pirate crew needs a flag.
