Make a secret treasure map

Make a treasure map 

X marks the spot! Make a treasure map for you to find treasure with all your friends in Neverland.

What you'll need:

  • 1 piece of paper

  • 2-3 used teabags (ask a grown-up to save these!)

  • Small bowl of warm water

  • Colouring pens

  • Pencil

  • Hairdryer (for grown-ups)

Plan your treasure map

  1. Use a pencil to draw your island on a piece of paper. Think about where you've always wanted to explore in Neverland and what places you'll have on your island.

Make the magic happen

  1. Ask a grown-up to dip the teabags in water and squeeze the liquid out of the used tea bags over the map.

  2. Carefully wipe the teabags on the map to make sure the paper is wet. Use more liquid to give the map an aged look.

  3. Ask a grown-up to use a hairdryer on a low, cool setting to dry the map quickly. This will stop your map from going soggy! 

Find the treasure

  1. Once the map is dry, use the colouring pens to draw details like waves for the sea or triangles for mountains. Don't forget to add dotted lines to the treasure and an X to mark the spot.

  2. Now use your treasure map to go on adventures with your friends in the garden or at home!

Hook's top tips:

  • Tear the edges to make the map look worn and old - just like Hook's!

  • Roll your map up and tie it with a string to look like a real treasure map.
