Build a Jolly Roger ship!

Build your own Jolly Roger ship 

Hook loves nothing more than sailing the Neverland seas in his Jolly Roger ship with his friends. Craft your own ship easily using twigs or lolly sticks and think of what kind of captain you’d like to be!

What you’ll need:

  • 5-10 twigs in different sizes or lolly sticks

  • 1 piece of cardboard

  • 1 piece of paper or felt

  • Glue

  • Scissors (ask a grown-up!)

Build the base of the ship

  1. Put one twig or lolly stick on the table and put another one underneath. Keep repeating this until you have a square shape or use long and short sticks to create a semi-circle, for the ship.

  2. Ask a grown-up to help you glue the twigs or lolly sticks to the piece of cardboard. Press the twigs down to make sure that they don't fall off and use lots of glue!

Prepare to set sail

  1. Place a lolly stick onto the back of the card with half of the stick showing for the sail.

  2. Ask a grown-up to cut a triangle out of the piece of paper and carefully glue the triangle to the top of the lolly stick, like a flag. If you have colouring pens, draw a special design on the flag for your ship!

  3. Now you're ready to set sail with Hook and all your favourite friends in Neverland!

Hook’s top tips:

  • Use any leftover lolly sticks and your colouring pens to make a mini crew to go on your ship.

  • Tape your ship to the top of a water bottle and place it in water to watch it float.
